The Resource Management (RM) Associate is responsible for a broad range of activities required to support resource management of all consulting staff across Huron ES&A. The RM Associate will determine and utilize the experience, history, and capabilities of the talent within the practice to ensure that we consistently provide the best possible teams to produce optimal results for our clients. This is a hybrid role, centralizing and managing the project staffing process, people management, and the performance management system. The RM Associate is expected to operate with independence and initiative and to work interactively and collaboratively with the RM team, field leadership and Learning and Organization Development (L&OD) to fulfill the objectives of the role.
Maintain staffing software/reporting and coordinate with other areas to ensure data is updated appropriately for assigned areas
Manage overall capacity model update process and ensure consistency of methodology across solution groups
Lead enhancements to current capacity modeling process and ensure consistency across solution groups - Assist with capacity model projections; work with RMBP to maintain a comprehensive log of all primary assignment changes (demand) as well as resource changes (terms, leaves, hires, etc.); summarize capacity models into working documents
Meet with each new hire class to communicate staffing process, conduct staffing software training and understand interest and assignment preferences
Serve as primary lead between RM and internal teams involved in new hire onboarding processes (Solution Advancement, L&OD, etc.)
Serve as mentor to the RM Analyst to help develop and ensure appropriate leverage across the RM team - Coordinate overall staffing assignments for newly hired analysts for assigned areas; understand project demand for new hires and match with resource availability, background and experience.
Work with Recruiting to understand confirmed hires and how that tracks with current targets
Establish and maintain credibility with practice/solution and internal teams in order to facilitate ongoing relationships and service delivery efforts
Develop and maintain understanding of solution group offerings to ensure better matching of skill sets and project needs
Assist with managing primary staffing assignments for assigned areas
Maintain discretion at all times with confidential and sensitive information
Work with OA leadership and field leadership to configure teams to conduct opportunity assessments; work with RMBP to support overall process and make initial recommendations for assigned areas and eventually own this process
Run weekly staffing calls to discuss open needs and placement of consultants on billable engagements
Work with SPS leadership and field leadership to configure teams to conduct performance reviews; work with RMBP to support overall process and make initial recommendations for assigned areas and eventually own this process
Facilitate overall staffing assignments and serve as lead RM for assigned focus areas
Analyze near term and long term capacity for assigned focus areas and communicate to leadership for planning purposes
Effectively team and communicate with HR, Operations, Recruiting, L&OD and other Resource Managers across the company
Coordinate activities of unassigned field consulting resources during periods between permanent project assignments; work with RMBP to support overall process and make initial recommendations and eventually own this process for assigned areas
Support internal RM process improvement efforts as needed (e.g., methodology development, SharePoint development)
Participate in components of performance management process with HR to help ensure consistent understanding of development needs of employees
Strong performance in achieving a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in human resource management, business administration or other analytical discipline
2-5 years in consulting or human resource management in a professional services organization or other relevant industry
Exceptional client service skills and ability to proactively work with leadership to address challenges
Excellent communication skills with the ability to learn quickly, work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to evaluate competing demands and arrive at a solution
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead and manage initiatives
Understanding of Change Management principles
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. High degree of comfort using computer software including CRM systems (Salesforce) and other Microsoft business products (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Office).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
